Q:

Is the Left $\cap$-Product of Ordered groups with A Topology?

Let $G_1,G_2$ be ordered groups. Define the binary relation $R\subseteq G_1\times G_2$ by $xRy$ iff there is some $y’\in G_2$ such that $xR\cdot y’$. $G_1$ and $G_2$ are called left $\cap$-product if $R$ is a transitive relation.
Is there a topology on the set of all left $\cap$-product of $G_1,G_2$ where a neighbourhood of $G_1\times G_2$ is given by
$$O=\{G_1\times G_2\mid \forall g\in G_1,\forall h\in G_2 : g\in O_1\rightarrow gR\cdot h\subseteq O_1\}$$
where $O_1$ is an open neighbourhood of $G_1$?

A:

I think the following approach is generally the right one to go about this kind of thing, but here is an example that looks like it might work.
One issue is that for an ordered group, an open interval is “standard”, meaning that it is either open left or right, but not both. I guess we can do this for topologies, by treating the two order directions as different. For example, say $G_1$ is compact with a dense subset $D_1$, and say $G_2$ is complete with $E_2$ dense in the order topology, meaning that the order is given by $x \leq y$ if $x \in E_2 \to y \in E_2$.
If we have two sets $O_1, O_2$ then we can consider $O_1 \cap O_2 = \{(x, y) : x \in O_1, y \in O_2\}$. It is clear that this is a neighbourhood of the diagonal, and therefore the intersection of two open sets is open. Then

Q:

Using an old Joomla site

I’m using a stand-alone webhosting service with PHP and MySQL. I would like to create a Joomla site for a client, and there are not many resources for me to get going. I’m a long-time PHP developer, not a Joomla developer. I’ve been told I can save a lot of time by using a Joomla site to create and manage the site for them, but I don’t want to have to lose any of my original design and content to make it work.
I’m going to set up a staging site with Joomla. Can I migrate my data and make that site a “sister” of the client’s site? When I set up the staging site, can I just copy over the files I want to keep, and replace the other stuff with what I have in my local files?
I don’t want to lose any of the other data, so I’m kind of worried about the staging site. I can start and stop it whenever I need, but how does it affect the client’s site? Can the client still navigate to the other site when they are logged in?
Also, I would rather not just copy the site over, but I’m not sure how to approach it.
Any thoughts, suggestions, and tips are appreciated.
Thanks!

Here’s a good basic tutorial:

The general gist is that you can host a staging site using a subdomain on your own domain, or a separate box on the same hosting account. You need to edit the hosts file to direct all traffic from

The attacks, which claimed the lives of more than 100 people, including several attackers, were the deadliest in the country’s history.

On Tuesday, Namibian police revealed Moseki and Mahangi were brothers and had not been arrested because they had not been charged with any crimes.

The revelations came after a discovery in September last year of an incriminating fingerprint on a car that had been used in the attacks, which were claimed by Al-Shabab, an affiliate of al-Qaeda.

Vasco Vanzela, a spokesman for the international criminal court, said it was essential that the police investigate the charges of
